What is Death, Taxes, & Art?

It was once said that nothing is certain in life except 2 things: the fact that you will undoubtedly die, and the fact that you will have to pay taxes. I would add to that the fact that art is everywhere around us, whether we know where to look or not. Art could be the content we consume, the books we read, the movies we watch, the songs we listen to, the buildings we visit, the work we do, the conversations we have, the moments we want to freeze, and the list goes on. We can’t avoid art in the same way we can’t avoid our humanity, and we shouldn't. Our humanity and our stories are what make us who we are, and that is what I seek to capture in this newsletter.

How did it start?

On a whim really. I recorded a lot of voice notes to my friends relating stories and artworks to things happening to either me or my friends. I observed how much art intertwined with my reflection on life, and I needed something to keep me consistently creating especially with me losing myself to the stress of work.

What can I expect?

Monthly reflections of a 20-something on life and quite a bit of art anecdotes and references delivered to your inbox. Mostly just writing whenever I feel like it (that happens to be every other day Sunday at 12 apparently).
